Areas of Practice
Mediation is often a quick and cost effective means to resolve legal disputes before what could be time consuming and expensive litigation. Kevin has served as a mediator and court assigned arbitrator in complex employment, commercial and personal injury matters. His knowledge of the law in these areas and experience in litigation, involvement as an attorney representing a party in mediation and trying cases make him an effective mediator. Kevin will work to bring both sides together in what is often a contentious dispute to find a middle path satisfactory to all. The key to successful mediation is to learn the facts, the motivations and goals of each party and guide them to the most effective way to achieve those ends.
Over the course of his 35 year career, Kevin has represented both sides in employment law disputes. He has represented Fortune 500 companies, and mid- and small-sized businesses successfully fend off claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful discharge. Also, he has fought for the wronged employees to obtain just compensation and punitive damages where warranted.
In addition to personal injury, employment law and Business deputes, Kevin has also handled will disputes, real estate conflicts and insurance claims. He has represented School Boards and Superintendents in Education Law matters and defended before the New Jersey Supreme Court the right of a public high school to conduct random drug testing. He has also ben involved in several election law claims.
Kevin has represented businesses in a wide variety of complex legal disputes including business dissolutions, non-compete and theft of confidential information claims, commercial landlord tenant actions, and breach of contract claims.
Under the New Jersey Workers Compensation Act, injured workers are entitled to medical benefits, temporary disability benefits and a monetary award based on the extent of their disability. Kevin has helped hundreds of injured workers obtain the benefits and monetary awards they deserve.
